Howcome I am not suprised that its not the Americans that found this..

Soft drinks found to have high levels of cancer chemical

TRACES of a carcinogenic chemical have been found in soft drinks at eight times the level permitted in drinking water, it was revealed last night. Maybe more..........

What's really stupid is that the Americans did find out about this first in 1990, but the FDA didn't make it public, just left it to the soft drink companies to "get the word out". Why would THEY tell anyone???

But the scientist who published the paper in 1993 is right at Long Island university...

Benzene is nasty stuff - read your labels for sodium benzoate or potassium benzoate in combination with ascorbic acid...
