Preparations to start for building High Line park
I guess we dont have to sneek up on the tracks anymore.
With construction expected to start soon on the High Line, preparations are beginning in earnest this month for transforming the run of old railroad into a chic public space on the edges of the Meatpacking District and Chelsea. Railroad tracks and ties will be tagged and removed as will the gravel ballast. Lead-based paint will be stripped from the steel structure and anti-pigeon devices will be installed for the yearlong preparation phase. more [Villager] ;)
