Numerous life events-such as: the death of a family member or friend, the loss of a job, buying a house or moving, and having a child, cause stress. Thomas Holmes and Richard Rahe, developed a list of major life stressors. These are listed in descending order below, beginning with the most.

Death of a spouse
Divorce
Marital separation
Imprisonment
Personal injury or illness
* Marriage (OMG 7/2 Next sunday!)
Fired from a job
Retirement
*Illness of a relative (Mom was in the hospital for a 10 days)
Pregnancy
Sexual problems
Birth or adoption
*Change in financial status (It changed, but for the better but = stress?)
*Change to different work (BofA -> Morgan)
*Moving (Two times for me!)
*Mortgage or major purchase (New Apt @ Times Sq)
Foreclosure on mortgage or loan
*Change in job responsibilities (New job = new responsibilities)
Child leaving home
Problems with in-laws
Spouse begins or stops work (LL is not spouse yet, does not count yet)
Begin or end school
*Change in living conditions (4 different living conditions by Aug)
Changing personal habits
*Problems with your boss (My old boss)
*Work hours/conditions (New job = 14 hour days)
*Change in residence or school (Moving in Aug)
Church or social activities
